The tallit has undergone many transformations since its inception 6000 thousands of years ago when the Bible commanded all Jews to wear fringes on their garment to remind them of the laws by which they were required to live our lives. From simple fringes, the tallit evolved into a prayer shawl made from wool or linen with the silk tallit becoming more and more popular especially for the increasing number of women who wear the tallit as an expression of their belief and faith.
